Be a Pawsitive Force: Scoop the Poop, if not be Pursued

With the increasing number of improper management of dog poop in Bolzano, the Italian province is now implementing a DNA registration database for its 40,000 dogs.

Street cleaners and officials will now be able to genetically test abandoned poop to trace owners, who could face fines of 50 to 500 euros ($73 – $730 SGD). Owners who refuse to undergo DNA profiling for their dog(s) may result in fines of 292 to 1,048 euros ($426 – $1531 SGD).
