Left a nasty review for a hotel before? Watch out, you might get sued now.
Planning a trip down to the beaches of Thailand anytime soon? You might want to read your hotel reviews carefully this time.
Hotels in Thailand are exercising their legal rights under the local law to sue unsatisfied customers who leave poor reviews online. Khing, a guest who left a rather mediocre review of the Ozone Hotel, was issued an official notice to delete the review online immediately. Failure to do so, would result in a hefty fine paid to the resort for the damages caused by that “false” review. Hotel review site, TripAdvisor, even updated their webpage to include a waring message to potential guests and reviewers who intend to stay or leave a review about said hotel.
