Not all clowns are funny
“Clowns” were spotted approaching primary school children just outside their schools which led to panic among parents.
Speech Academy Asia, a company that provides “cutting edge communication training courses”, clarified that the people dressed as clowns were actually their employees. The academy explained that they held these publicity activities outside primary schools to market their classes in a bid to get more sign-ups for their lessons.
Speech Academy Asia had since apologised to parents for causing concern over their children’s safety. In response to social media messages claiming the promoters offered money to children to follow them, the academy emphasised that their employees did not offer monetary rewards to encourage students to follow them.
