Satan Incarnate

The US Department of Justice has released the largest-ever batch of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, following a transparency law passed in 2024. The release includes around three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos, published six weeks after the DOJ missed its legal deadline. The FBI and members of Trump’s administration say the review process is now complete, but due to the presence of thousands of redactions, people are mostly unsatisfied with that conclusion.

The files cover Epstein’s prison records, psychological evaluations, details surrounding his 2019 death, and investigative material related to Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of helping traffic underage girls. They also contain extensive emails and financial records spanning decades.

A major focus is Epstein’s relationships with powerful figures. Newly released emails suggest continued contact after his 2008 conviction with Prince Andrew, contradicting the prince’s past claims that he cut ties. Messages and photos involving Andrew appear in the files, though no criminal wrongdoing is alleged. Emails attributed to Sarah Ferguson show a close and affectionate relationship with Epstein during the same period.

Other prominent names appear throughout the documents, including Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, and Steve Bannon. In most cases, the material consists of emails, unverified allegations, or Epstein’s own claims, and being named is not evidence of wrongdoing. Several figures have strongly denied the allegations or said Epstein exaggerated or fabricated stories.

The files also reveal Epstein’s efforts to rehabilitate his image, including discussions with Bannon about producing a documentary and reshaping public perception. Financial records show payments linked to Peter Mandelson, who has since resigned from political roles amid renewed scrutiny.

The release has drawn sharp criticism from victims’ advocates, particularly over insufficient redactions that may expose survivors’ identities. Lawyer Gloria Allred said some victims were identifiable despite legal protections.

While the DOJ says this release concludes its obligations, Democratic lawmakers argue that millions of additional documents may still be withheld, and much information is still redacted in the existing ones, keeping alive suspicions that powerful individuals are being shielded. The debate over transparency and accountability in the Epstein case is likely to continue.
